Stop by our centrally located warehouse to pick up your kayak for the day, just 4 minutes away from the Russian River - one of California’s premier kayaking destinations. We include all of the gear you need to transport and use your kayak. You have it for the whole day - no need to be somewhere at a specific time. Once you book, we’ll provide you with all of the instructions for pick up/drop off, and some recommendations of our favorite kayaking spots in the area - feel free to take it on an adventure to your favorite spot in the Bay Area!
How it works
Reserve your kayak(s)
We offer single and double kayaks - choose if you want to paddle by yourself or with a friend. Reserve your kayak online through the scheduling page and sign the waiver. The booking form will automatically show 8 AM as the starting time - this is the earliest that you can pick up your kayak, but you can pick it up whenever you choose throughout the day. If you drop off your rental after 8 PM, you will be charged for an additional day.
Pick up your gear
Upon confirmed reservation, we’ll send you the pick up location and instructions. Included with the rental is everything you need for a great day on the water: life jackets, paddles, dry bags, and car carriers to easily haul your kayak(s) wherever your adventure is headed. We'll be there to help you load the kayak to your car, so please respond to your booking confirmation with your planned pick-up time.
Attach the kayak to your car
Much simpler than attaching a Christmas tree to the roof of your car, we provide universal soft foam car carriers to mount any of our kayaks to the roof of your car. Our biggest kayak is 12’ long, which will easily fit on even a sedan or smaller car. We provide detailed instructions, but it’s as easy as ratcheting a few straps and you’re good to go! (Note: only one kayak fits on a car with our provided carriers, so plan accordingly if you intend to use multiple kayaks. Depending on your launch point, it could be easy to shuttle kayaks in multiple trips.)
Go kayak!
Take the kayak to your favorite spot! Plan ahead with a buddy and park your cars in two spots (one up river and one down river), or take advantage of the Russian River’s slow flowing current and do an out and back, launched from any one of the Russian River’s kayak launch areas: https://parks.sonomacounty.ca.gov/play/boating-and-paddling/paddling-the-russian-river
Return
Once you’ve gotten your kayaking fix for the day, drop off your rented equipment back at our warehouse in Healdsburg. From there, go wine tasting, go to dinner, or just explore the Healdsburg Square - just 5 minutes away from the drop off point.
